Women in Church Leadership
#reclaimmagdala

Sign our Groundswell Petition asking Pope Francis to publicly correct the record on Mary of Magdala in the prayer for the Jubilee for Mercy.

Even today, St. Mary of Magdala is portrayed as a repentent prostitute rather than the faithful witness and leader she was in the early Church.

Whereever we find she is denigrated, we want to bring the good news of her true role as "an apostle to the apostles."

In the prayer for the Jubilee of Mercy, Magdalene is paired with the adulteress.  That is an opportunity to raise awareness and tell her true story.

Take action today and begin doing your part to raise awareness about the true role of St. Mary of Magdala in our salvation history.  Do it for yourself.  Do it for your community.  Do it for the daughters and sons who will follow us as ministers and leaders in our Church.

1. Sign our Groundswell Petition asking Pope Francis to publicly correct the record on Mary of Magdala. FutureChurch executive director, Deborah Rose-Milavec, will present the petition to Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization, the Council charged with all the activities and prayers for the Jubilee of Mercy, when she is in Rome this October for the Synod on the Family.

Spread the good news that Mary Magdala was no repentent prostitute, but a faithful servant of God and a primary witness to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
