Keynote:

Dr. Elizabeth Schüssler-Fiorenza is an internationally acclaimed scholar, lecturer, activist and teacher. She combines her ground-breaking work in biblical interpretation with extensive involvement with women in church, ministry and theology. She is the Krister Stendahl professor of religion at Harvard Divinity School.  Her books In Memory of Her (1983) and Bread Not Stone (1984) are acclaimed for their path-breaking scholarship and have been translated into a dozen languages. In 1987 U.S. Catholic magazine chose her as "Catholic of the Year."

Panel Presentation: Pastoral Implications from Diverse Perspectives

Maria G. Covarrubias is the Director of the Office of Catechetical Ministry for the Diocese of San Bernardino.  Maria grew up in the central part of Mexico and came to the United States thirty years ago, as a teenager. She holds a BA in Latino Literature and the Spanish and is currently a Master’s candidate in the Graduate Religious Studies Program at Mount St. Mary’s College.

Fe Musgrave   is a Pastoral Associate at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Rowland Heights, CA. She served as Consultant, Catechesis in the Asian/Pacific Perspective, Office of Religious Education, Archdiocese of Los Angeles for seven years. During that time she coordinated Building Inclusive Communities Through Mindful Cross-Cultural Interactions, a five-day summer institute.  

Juliette Marsh Williams serves as Pastoral Associate at St. Elizabeth Parish in Altadena, CA.  She has worked at both parish and diocesan levels in Los Angeles and Chicago.  Her gifts led to a study of Canon Law. She is a member of the Paulist Preaching teams, which travel around the country preaching parish missions.

Sheryl Lange  is currently ministering at St. Mary's Academy in Inglewood, CA as a Campus Minister, as well as teaching Christian Morality and leadership classes.  For the past 17 years Sheryl worked for the Los Angeles Archdiocese Office of Religious Education specializing in Catechesis in the Black Perspective.
