On Tuesday , January 10 at 7pm, FutureChurch presents an informative program with Fr. Anthony Ruff OSB, on the New Roman Missal at Independence Civic Center, 6363 Selig Drive, Independence, OH 44131. No charge, but a free will offering will be accepted.
About the Program: Fr. Anthony Ruff will discuss why we got new translation guidelines, which are a complete reversal of the previous ones, and what the results are in the English text of the missal—both its strengths and its deep problems. He will examine how the new missal reflects the exercise of authority in the Church, which is becoming less collegial and more centralized. Fr. Ruff will reflect with the group the many ways a faithful Catholic might respond to this dilemma, ranging from collaboration to resistance
