The trustees and directors of Future Church gathered on the evening of February 12 for a working dinner followed by an informal session with members of our GenNext committee at the home of Board Chair, Gene Kramer and his wife Joanne. Trustees were grateful for this opportunity to experience the concerns, hopes, and dedication of these GenNext representatives.

On Saturday morning, trustees met in a facilitated work session to work on the four goals of FutureChurch's strategic plan. The Strategic Issues Committee incorporated helpful feedback from an online survey of our members conducted over the summer. We were gratified to learn that 92-97% of respondents supported the updated mission statement (see back cover) and new goals. We determined action plans and timelines, delegated assignments and established criteria to measure success. Everyone agreed that this was an enormously helpful process. The final plan will be voted on at the May meeting and then publicized to our supporters.

The afternoon was spent inmanaging the business of the organization including financial reports, director's report and planning FutureChurch's 20th anniversary celebration scheduled for 2010-2011. The board also discussed our relationships with affiliated organizations. Trustees agreed to establish the Rev. Louis J. Trivison award in honor of our beloved co-founder. A committee will be appointed to assemble the criteria and initiate the nomination process.

We closed the meeting at 3PM with our next gathering scheduled for May 13, 2010 by teleconference.
