FutureChurch National Board Meets
On February 1st and 2nd, the FutureChurch Board of Trustees met in Cleveland to set directions for the coming year. A year ago, the board decided that our leadership should more closely match our national membership, and embarked on a search for geographically diverse candidates. We are very pleased to welcome three new members from outside Northeast Ohio.
Fr. Gerry Bechard from the Archdiocese of Detroit is a pastor and founding member of Elephants in the Living Room, an organization of priests and laity who seek renewal of the Church. Rita Houlihan of New York City recently retired from IBM where she specialized in organizational change consulting. In addition to volunteering on Boston College’s Career Services committee, she has organized FutureChurch “Women in Church Leadership” programs in the New York area and is coordinating her parish’s first Mary of Magdala celebration. Barbara Litrell of Sedona, AZ founded the Celebrating Women Witnesses Ministry at St. John Vianney parish. She formerly worked for the New York Times, McCall’s, Working Woman and Working Mother magazines in New York City. For a complete list of FutureChurch board members, visit www.futurechurch.org
