FOCUS wins Two Catholic Press Association Awards

In May, this newsletter, FOCUS on FutureChurch received a first place general excellence award for special interest newsletters and a second place for feature articles, special interest newsletter from the Catholic Press Association. CPA’s Catholic Journalist wrote: “It [FOCUS] takes hot topics head on. Agree or not with it, the topics need airing and discussing outside the pulpit.” It had this to say about Sr Chris Schenk’s award winning Whither Women of the Church? feature story: “ A hard-hitting article demanding attention to disruptive events involving women within the Church…The article stresses the need for local bishops to welcome calls to women to serve equally with men and raises tough questions for all Catholics to consider.”
