Sue Stanton (left) of Ames is introduced by Linda White, coordinator of Central Iowa Call to Action, at the 6th annual Mary of Magdala celebration, July 22 at the Ames Public Library. Stanton's presentation, "Mary of Magdala, the Misunderstood Woman", explained the changed theology of the Biblical Mary Magdalene. With a degree in religious studies from Iowa State University, Stanton has authored three books and taken numerous trips to the Holy Land and India researching the treatment of women of different cultures and faiths.  White shows Stanton's most recent Paulist Press publication, Great Women of Faith: Inspiration for Action.
