IOWA CITY, IOWA
In Iowa City, the celebration began with a dance performed to the music of Lord of the Dance by three talented young women. It was followed by a presentation read about Mary Magdala, using scripture and responses, poems, music and then the celebration ended by inviting everyone who wanted to come up and light a candle invoking the name or memory of a beloved woman in their life (saint, relative, friend or person who influenced them at some time).
