Indianapolis Diocese Comments
Not Sure – Only when the Holy Father does.
No – I do not support CTA or its beliefs.
Yes – In spite of all of the theological rationalization, I believe the only real reason authorities are so adamant about maintaining enforced celibacy is control. Go CTA!
No – CTA is not a forum for discussion of this matter. CTA presupposes that the church is not an infallible institution founded directly by Christ. Consequently if the church is a big lie (since it has always claimed infallibility) then you are (like St. Paul in Cor. 14-15) the silliest of people. You put faith in a man-made institution, which offers them no real hope of salvation. I regret to inform you that you are a member of a heretical organization and if you persist in it tenaciously you are am excommunicate and a public sinner against Christ and his Church. You are then not permitted the Sacraments or Christian burial by Church law. I will offer the Mass for your conversion since if you are not moved by this warning you are hardened in sin, or at least a victim of gross ignorance. God save the souls from your organization which is diabolic. In Jesus our Savior and his Blessed mother.
Yes – While I Favor such a discussion, I hold little hope of it taking place or of the discussion making a difference. The present oppressive atmosphere in the church precludes much change. Thank you for your continued service.
No – I think and feel that the discipline of celibacy should be maintained in the Western Church. After 50 years as a parish priest I am personally convinced that “total dedication” to the priesthood of time and talent and treasure FREES me for service to our Lord and his people and an ability to love my parishioners in a way that the high calling to marriage that my mother and dad followed would make impossible. Marriage would obviously have to come 1st as vocation and priesthood second as an avocation, much like a married doctor who has a primary calling to marriage and a secondary calling to medicine. Thank you for your concern.
No – The Call to Action group should disband – their day is over, thank God!
